Easy Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings

In celebration of gaining *only* 2.4 pounds in the past 3 weeks at my OB appointment today, I decided to try out this recipe I’ve been meaning to whip up.  It turned out GREAT!  So easy, pretty, and yummy!  My kiddos loved it too–which is always a bonus because if they eat it also, I may gain *only* another 2.4 pounds at the next appointment…not my standard 9 🙂

On to the recipe:

Easy Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings (Preheat over to 350 degrees)

  • 1 can crescent rolls (I brought reduced fat on accident–turned out fine)
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced
  • 2/3 c. Mountain Dew Soda
  • 4 Tablespoons butter, melted
  • 3 Tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

  • Chopped pecans

Here’s the picture step by step:

The line-up

Thinly slice apples..

Place 2-3 slices thinly sliced apples in each crescent and roll…

Place in a lightly greased dish..

Melt your butter. I used the microwave.

Add sugar and cinnamon to melted butter.

Drizzle butter/sugar/cinnamon mixture over unbaked crescents.

Add the ‘Dew!

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown at 375 degrees.

Mix the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to make the glaze…

Drizzle glaze over cooked Apple Dumplings

Garnish with Pecans and more sliced apples…
