Life Lately and Big Updates!

How I have missed my blog.  All of you.  Chatting about homeschooling.  Honestly, though, I’ve been in survival mode.

baby girl after 4 boys

I’m pregnant…with a GIRL!  Wowza.  Shocker after 4 little boys.  We are thankful and so far baby looks healthy.  I’m still pretty sick and very tired.  We have been keeping up with a bit of school everyday so that my kids won’t forget their last names 😉  Pregnancy is a very difficult time for me both mentally and physically.  It is a means to an end.  I love when the baby kicks, but other than that, I can say with confidence I’m a grouch who is not fun to be around.

Tonight, I finally decided to put on my big girl panties and update you all.  It seems like I *may* be dealing with my nausea and vomiting longer than with my boys and I’m depressed of being in this funk.

I have to thank the Demme family over at Math U See and Spelling You See.  I had reviews and giveaways due for them last month and this month and they were so understanding.  Any company that understands severe morning sickness is a friend of mine!

What else?  What will we name her?  Are we excited?  Are we SURE it’s a girl?  After all, when ‘Ava Grew A Weiner‘ we never thought we’d trust an ultrasound again.  What do the boys think?  Will we have more kids?

Believe it or not we don’t have a name picked out!  It’s a work in progress.  We are excited, but nervous.  It will be a big change for our family!  Are we sure it’s a girl?  Yes.  We had genetic testing done which is pretty accurate, followed by ultrasound(s) that confirmed girl.

The boys are excited, I think.  I think they will adore and love her just like they do when any new baby has joined our family.

More kids?  Golly.  We pray on it often.  Since high school we always felt 4 or 5 was our calling.  We still feel that way.  Even had we been blessed with a fifth son, we would still feel this way.  HOWEVER, never say never, right?  God can change hearts in an instant.  We are taking it one day and one child at a time for now.

In the meantime, prayers for a healthy mama and baby are so appreciated!  Even on child #5, I don’t take this process for granted.

  1. Congratulations! I have 3 boys and 1 girl and I’m due in October with #5. We find out tomorrow what it is. We’re hoping for another girl so our girl has a playmate, but of course will take whatever God gives us. When are you due?

  2. Congratulations Liz! I found that I was sicker with my girls than I was my son. Hugs to you. I know this part is not fun!

  3. So happy to have you back! Congrats on baby girl!!! Yay for PINK =)

  4. Amen!!!! Congratulations my friend. I have missed you and your posts 🙂 ….and had been wondering. I am so excited for you!!!! Your Mom is smiling in heaven! Hang in there with the sickness and exhaustion – my whole family is sending prayers your way 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
